DRF.com – Hong Leong Yamaha as a motorbike manufacturer and distributor in Malaysia has launched the Yamaha R25 with updates for the 2024 model. This full fairing sportbike is equipped with several new additional features and options and the price will remain the same as the previous model.
250cc Engine Remains The Same
It has a 249cc, DOHC 8 valve, liquid-cooled 2 cylinder engine with a power output of around 34.5 hp at 12,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 23 Nm at 10,000 rpm. The engine is connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. Due to the new regulations regarding exhaust emissions which are stricter in Malaysia, as a result this engine has experienced a reduction in power of around 1 hp.

The Yamaha R25 weighs 166 kg with a seat height of 780 mm and a tank capacity of 14 liters. Other parts, such as the body design, are still the same, using Yamaha’s R series design language. Upside-down front suspension sector and rear monoshock.
The braking system is front and rear disc brakes with a 2-channel ABS system, the lights are full LED, the instrument panel is digital LCD but is still not equipped with the Y-Connect feature to connect to a cellphone.
Added New Options and Colors
Since the 2023 model, this sportbike has received the addition of a quick shifter option as an addition and in the latest model it will remain there. Even though this feature must be purchased separately, meaning it is not factory-installed, owners who want to add it must pay around IDR 2.2 million.

The 2024 Yamaha R25 model presented by Hong Leong Yamaha is marketed in 2 color choices, namely white and very striking cyan. Another color is Yamaha’s signature Racing Blue, both of which are priced at 19,464 ringgit or around Rp. 64.6 million, this price includes tax. The Yamaha R25 in Indonesia is sold for IDR 70.6 million (ABS type).
